Article No. XI. brings us to the case of Ulster.

It is provided that until a month has elapsed from the passing of the Act of Parliament embodying the Agreement the Act shall not apply to Northern Ireland. The 'present method of Government in Northern Ireland, that is to say, will remain in full force unless it be decided by both Houses of the Northern Parliament within that month that elections shall be held in the Northern area for returning members to the Parliament of the Irish Free State. If before the expiration of the month an Address is presented to the King by both Houses of the Northern Parliament the powers of the Free State shall not extend to Northern Ireland at all. In this case, however, there is to be some rectification of boundaries.
