Lord. Fullerton. By Lord Strathclyde. (Edinburgh : Hodge. 7s. 6d.

net.)--Lord Fullerton, an able and cultured Scottish judge, died in 1853 at the age of seventy-eight. This •memoir of him, by one of his ablest successors, is admirably written and is of interest, even, for those who know nothing of Scots law or of the " total inefficacy of an unrecorded Subic," because it recalls the Edinburgh of Scott and Jeffrey. The diary of a tour on the Rhine in 1830 may be noted, too ; there was roulette at the Redoute in Aida-Chapelle, as readers of Thackeray will remember.
