THE FORTUNATE WOMAN. By Eleanor Reid. (Hurst and Blackett. 7s.
6d. net.)--Laura Field, the " fortunate woman " of the title, might take for herself the motto of Kundry in the last act of Parsifal, " Dienen, dienen." Her idea of happiness is to be essential to some one person and to be allowed to serve. The book consists of an account of the way in which she attains her desire and is also a clever picture of middle-class life.
