Professor Bartlett gives the Authorised Version and the Revised Version, append- ing to the latter his annotations. The great improvement of the Revised Version on the Authorised Version is not always pointed out. In Acts xxvii. 39, for instance, "a bay with a beach" is vastly more descriptive than "a creek with a shore." Of this superiority of the Revised Version there is special need to speak, for the labour expended on it has as yet produced little effect.
