Tuesday's Gazette announces the appointment of the Right Ho- nourable James Alexander Stuart Mackenzie, to be Lord High Com- missioner in the United States of the Ionian Islands ; and the appoint- ment of Lieutenant-General Sir Colin Campbell, to be Governor and Commander-in-Chief of Ceylon. The same Gazette contains the official announcement of the blockade of' Canton, to commence from the 28th of June last.
