A Cinema Disaster On Tuesday there occurred one of the
most terrible panics ever known in this country. In a cinema theatre in Paisley a film caught fire in the operator's room and the smoke was blown into the hall. In the ensuing stampede seventy children lost their lives. The local authorities held a meeting on Wednesday to consider what relief could be provided for the families, and gen- erous contributions have been made to the fund.
