9. Narrative of the. Shipwreck of the Juno.onthe Coast of
Ara- can, in the year 1795, by WILLIAM MAciLky. This • is. a reprint of the little' work which Byaoisr read at school, and which is sup- posed to have made a deep impression on his mind. At any rate, a striking portion of it was reproduced in his Don Juan. The tale is a heart-rending narrative of human suffering, relieved by an exhibition of high courage and unflinching perseverance. It will be sufficient to mention as one among, the incidents of this horrible shipwreck, that a part of the crew remained on the wreck, without food, during a period of twenty-three days.
