Lenin and Trotsky addressed last week to all the belligerent

Powers a demand that they should agree to the cessation of hos- tilities. The Allied Governments, who do not recognize the Anarchist " Ministry," paid.no attention tothe proposal. The German Govern- ment, according to Lenin's Commander-in-Chief, has agreed to negotiate for an armistice on all fronts, and Krylenko's envoys are to meet German military envoys on Sunday. It is, however, by no means clear that Krylenko is recognized by any substantial portion of the Russian Army, and if his orders for a cessation of hostilities are not obeyed, the proposed armistice will come to nothing.
