The vacancy at the Ministry of Agriculture has been filled
by the appointment of Lord Onslow, who thus enters the Cabinet. Lord Onslow, who has been Governor of New Zealand and Under-Secretary of State both for India and the Colonies, besides possessing a wide official experience, is a large and progiessive landowner, and is thoroughly conversant with the needs of the farmer. He is also himself a practical agriculturist, having farmed on a considerable scale in Surrey. The appointment is therefore one which should prove useful as well as acceptable to the landed interest.
