Thomas M'Cullagh. By H. H. M'Cullagh, M.A. (R. Culley. Is.

net.)—Thomas M'Cullagh was born in 1822 in Athlone, where the scanty representatives of Protestantism had no easy time. He took up the occupation of surveying, was employed in the Survey of Ireland (John Tyndall was one of his associates), and in 1844 became a probationer in the Wesleyan ministry. In 1847 he became minister at Hexham, and was ordained; thirty-six years afterwards he became President of Conference. His last term of ministry was at Macclesfield, ending in 1894. The volume gives us from time to time interesting pictures of the religious life of this community.
