A Nation and its Books. (Welsh Department, Board of Education. ls.)—This comely pamphlet, printed in Wales on Welsh paper, in an appeal to Welsh local authorities, clergy, school teachers, and others to promote the study of good literature, especially in the native tongue, by the formation and development of school libraries and village libraries to supplement the great new libraries of Aberystwyth and Cardiff. Lists of suitable books, in Welsh and in English, are given, with particulars of the various charities which make grants in aid of small libraries. The editor says, very truly, that the Welsh have always been a literary people, but they need more cheap and good books in their own language. Some enterprising publisher should take note.
