Catalogue of the Ivory Carvings of the Christian Era in
the British Museum. By 0. M. Dalton, Assistant Keeper of the Department. Printed by Order of the Trustees. (Longman and Co., and others. 42 2s. net.)—It is needless to say that this work is one of great learning and completeness. Besides a general introduction, there is the catalogue in which each ivory is described, and more than half the volume is devoted to illustrations which are models of clearness and good production.
