Mr. Meighcn can hardly be anxious to take office under

such very doubtful conditions, and it is expected that Mr. Mackenzie King will not resign, but find a new seat for himself, reconstruct his Cabinet and hold on in office, at any rate until Parliament has met and shown him on what support he can rely with certainty. If neither side considers that it has a satisfactory " working " majority, there will probably be another dissolution and election. The return of Mr. Bourassa to political life will interest everyone and please many.. Sir George Perley's election will give satisfaction to the friends whom he made over here as High Commissioner during the War.
