Considerable alarm was caused on Wednesday by a statement that

the Crown Prince of Germany had suddenly and urgently telegraphed for Sir Morell Mackenzie. This turned out to be true ; but up to Friday afternoon there was no confirmation of the alarming deductions naturally drawn from the summons. On the contrary, it is confidently stated—in a telegram to the Queen, among others—that the great throat-doctor finds rig new cause of alarm in the condition of his patient.
