Mr. Kellaway, the Postmaster-General, said on Tuesday that the Post

Office commercial accounts would show a deficit of £2,000,000 for the current year, but would yield a surplus of £9,000,000 in the coming year. He disputed the suggestion of the Geddes Committee that only the postcard and printed paper rates should be reduced, at a cost of £2,000,000. Hs hoped that the Cabinet would agree to further reductions in postal rates. He promised to restore the Sunday collections of letters as soon as ho could, but not the Sunday deliveries. It is encouraging to fmd that Mr. Kellaway has been convinced by experience that high postal rates mean a loss of revenue.
