THE R.S.P.C.A.

[To the Editor of THE SPECTATOR.] am desired to inform you that the Council of the R.S.P.C.A., at its meeting on the 17th instant, passed by fourteen votes to three the following resolution moved by Lord Danesfort and seconded by Lady Edward Spencer Churchill :-

"That this Council desires to express its profound regret at the unfortunate incidents which took place at the extraordinary general meeting of the Society on last Wednesday, May 9th . . That the Council hereby records its warm appreciation and gratitude for the great services rendered by its Chairman, Lord Banbury, to the cause of the animals, by his action in and out of Parliament for over thirty years past, and expresses its unabated confidence in him as ita Chairman."
