IT would be rather difficult to say whether the great rush for the London County Stock this , week must be regarded as demonstrating the - great volume of investment resources 'seeking employment, or speculative tendencies expressed in a desire to snatch premiums on new capital issues. The Loan, so far as cash subscriptions were concerned, was fOr 15,000,000 in 41 per cents. at 94/, and it was covered in an hour many times over. From the first, however, the ternis of issue were regarded as attractive, so attractive, in fact, that it was thought that about I per cent. premium could be reckoned upon, with the result possibly that genuine investment subscriptions were supplemented to a pronounced extent by applications on the part of mere premium hunters.
