At the annual meeting of the Royal Society for the

Protection of Birds, presided over by the Duchess of Portland, a speaker made an eloquent plea far an educa- tional campaign against the folly of collecting birds' eggs and he expressed his belief that the youth of this country would respond to the invitation if it were put before them properly. Mr. De Were Stacpoole spoke of the oil pollution of the sea which is engaging the attention of all bird lovers. International action is needed and especially co-operation between the United States and the British Commonwealth if the tens of thousands of sea birds, such as puffins, guillemots, razor-bills, divers, gannets and others are to be saved a slow death from starvation through the pollution of the sea,
