Last Saturday further discusskins took *Ice between Mr. Lloyd George
and the miners met owners seperately. Mr. Lloyd George stated that as the two sides had been unable to agree as to the machinery for a permanent settlement he would suggest three possible methods of arbitration. The first was a National Wage Board of owners and miners presided over by a neutral chairman with a casting vote. The ascend was- a- tribunal of three persons. The third was a single arbitrator. The Miners' Executive decided to refer the new proposals to their district meetings on the ground that this plan would be quicker and leas expensive than a general ballot.
