Antony Everton. By J. S. Fletcher. (W. and R. Chambers.

2s.)—This is a short, brisk story. Antony is sent by one villain who poses as an honezt lawyer to another who plays the part of a respectable mercer. The perils that he encounters, and the way in which he escapes from them, are well told; but we cannot see that the quality or interest of the story is increased by the introduction of Lord Strafford. In the last chapter King Charles himself is introduced. But the most fervent admirer of the Stuarts would hardly like to meet Charles in Strafford's company.
