We record with very great regret the sudden, but, we

are glad to think, not serious, indisposition of the Prime Minister. Sir Henry Campbell-Bannerman was taken ill at Bristol in the evening after his speech at the Colston Banquets,—the cause being overwork and a neglected cold. Happily his medical attendants see no reason to doubt that a few days' rest will restore him to his usual hea..ltb. Universal sympathy has‘been

expressed for one who, on the ground of character and devotion to duty, stands so high in the estimation of his countrymen.
